It’s easy to build a blog, but not so easy to build a successful blog with significant traffic. Utilizing a blogging platform for your business, if done properly, can generate traffic, leads and sales for your business that you otherwise would not have had. Unfortunately though, most businesses do not blog well. Why? Because they refuse to think like a consumer.

1. Target Your Content to an Audience that is Likely to Share

When strategizing your blog post, you want your post to stand out from other posts. Make your content a priority, take time and think about what consumers are reading or researching. When you find out what exactly your readers want, continue to give it to them. They are coming to YOU for the information that they want or need. Make your post recent and up to date , don’t post about something that nobody is talking about.

2. Participate in the Communities Where Your Audience Already Gathers

Blogging isn’t just about writing a post and then your done. It’s about engaging with your readers and find out what they are interested in and then write about it. Respond to your viewers comments, interact in conversation and appreciate their interest in what you have to say.

3. Make Your Blog’s Content SEO-Friendly

This is VERY important when it comes to people finding your blog, make sure you are adding keywords to your post as well as in your post. When writing your blogs keep in mind that you want search engines to pick up what you are talking about, so be clear in what you’re saying and use correct keywords.

 4. Use Twitter, Facebook and Google+ to Share Your Posts & Find New Connections

These are great tools to use when trying to reach to a broader audience. Instead of relying on people to search your content through search engines, bring your content to people. These Social Media sites should be used to boost traffic to your blog and potentially drive traffic to your website.

Rinse & Repeat – Be Consistent and Don’t Give Up

So many bloggers give up to soon, you have to be persistent. It takes time for a blog to grow to its full-potential, the more consistent your and if you have solid content that people want to read, your blog will be noticed and start to pick up momentum!
