Powerstride Battery, based in Los Angeles, is a global distributor of battery and battery-related products for the automotive, commercial, industrial, golf, RV, marine, telecommunications, and high technology markets.

Business Challenges
Powerstride came to GHIIS with an outdated ecommerce web site that was prohibiting the company from online growth. The company has 10 brick and mortar retail locations in the Los Angeles area and had the goal of making the web site a top 11th virtual “location.”

The Solution
GHIIS completely redesigned the company’s web site with a customized ecommerce web design built upon the Magento platform. Magento allows a very powerful ecommerce solution right out of the box, with almost unlimited ability to customize and grow with the needs of any online business. GHIIS’ web site design team built an easy-to-use interface that helps brand the company, and our e-commerce developers programmed Magento to handle the thousands of products in the Powerstride catalog.
In addition to the base Magento e-commerce system, GHIIS also developed custom modules/plugins for the site, including:
- Custom “battery finder” wizard that helps the user find the right battery for their application
- Customized shipping options that allowed Powerstride Battery sales representatives to ship from the Powerstride warehouses, or third-party vendors to drop-ship the product
But what good is a powerful e-commerce design and solution, if nobody ever visits the web site? Powerstride needed a focused digital marketing campaign to drive new sales from their investment.
